The European Financial Reporting Advisory Group has released the April edition of its monthly update, which summarises the public technical discussions and decisions taken over the past month, along with open consultations, future events and vacancies. The edition highlights a final comment letter on IAS 28 that supports amendments to the Fair Value Option to address concerns affecting the insurance sector, as well as current work on financial reporting and sustainability reporting. Other items flagged in the update include open consultations on Connectivity, Risk Mitigation Accounting, and EFRAG’s draft assessment report on a voluntary template for SMEs and startups for the European Single Access Point. It also points to EFRAG’s Sustainability Reporting Work Programme 2026, the appointment of Kerstin Lopatta as Chair of the Sustainability Reporting Board for the next three-year term, publication of EFRAG’s first Sustainability Report prepared using the VSME Standard, and EFRAG’s 25th anniversary conference scheduled for 8 June 2026 in Brussels.
