The National Bank of Serbia published payment service provider data for the first quarter of 2025 showing continued double-digit growth in registered users of mobile and electronic banking, alongside a moderate increase in total payments made through digital banking channels. Mobile banking drove the rise in transaction volumes, while electronic banking usage declined year on year. By end-March 2025, 4,840,503 users were registered for mobile banking services (up 15.8% versus the same period in 2024) and 4,790,013 for electronic banking (up 15.1%). A total of 61.9 million payments were made via mobile and electronic banking in the quarter (up 5.9%), with mobile banking payments increasing 25.4% to 30.7 million and electronic banking payments falling 8.1% to 31.2 million. The National Bank of Serbia reported double-digit growth in mobile and electronic banking users for Q1 2025, with mobile banking driving transaction volume increases. Mobile banking users rose 15.8% to 4.84 million, while electronic banking users grew 15.1% to 4.79 million. Total payments via these channels increased 5.9% to 61.9 million, with mobile payments up 25.4% and electronic payments down 8.1%.
