The Bank of Italy released seven new research papers in its "Questioni di economia e finanza" series (Nos. 925-931). The publications address EU industrial policy in the context of crisis and the dual transition, and examine how data dependency and inflation projections interact with monetary policy decisions, alongside evidence on the use and expected impact of generative artificial intelligence among Italian households. Further topics include a new "Underlying Composite Inflation" (UCI) indicator intended to capture underlying inflation pressures, analysis of energy shocks and their effects on key macroeconomic variables, a case study on applying artificial intelligence within the Bank of Italy to support management of regulatory reporting, and an assessment of coastal flood climate risk for residential mortgages in Rimini.
