Hong Kong's Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau welcomed the Financial Dispute Resolution Centre (FDRC)’s appointment of Ms Rachael Siu Suk-yu as a non-official Director of its Board for a two-year term from 31 March 2026 to 30 March 2028. The Bureau also thanked the outgoing Director and Legislative Council Member, Professor William Wong Kam-fai, for his contributions over the past six years. Ms Siu is described as a legal professional with extensive knowledge of consumer rights protection. The FDRC administers an independent financial dispute resolution scheme for monetary disputes between financial institutions and their customers, primarily through “Mediation First, Arbitration Next”, and is governed by a Board comprising a non-official Chairman, four non-official members, representatives from the Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau, the Hong Kong Monetary Authority and the Securities and Futures Commission, and the FDRC Chief Executive Officer.
