The Thailand Securities and Exchange Commission, together with domestic and international partners, held a seminar on using transition finance to fund Thailand’s shift to net zero. The event followed the regulator’s introduction of rules supporting transition bonds and Thailand amber bonds and stronger disclosure requirements for environmental, social and governance bonds. Discussions focused on financing credible emissions reduction plans in hard-to-abate sectors that cannot immediately qualify for green finance. Experts addressed national and industry approaches to cutting emissions, international transition finance experience, and measures to support fundraising through ESG bonds. About 120 issuers, underwriters, advisers, external reviewers, asset managers and agency representatives attended.
