The Chile Financial Market Commission has published its programme of activities to commemorate 100 years of banking regulation and supervision in Chile, including its 2025 Annual Conference on “100 Years of Banking Supervision: A Look at the Past, Present, and Future of Financial Intermediation” scheduled for 26–27 June 2025. The CMF has launched a dedicated website section with a “Banking Chronology” covering 1743 to the present and historical documents from more than 100 financial institutions, including a date-based list of entities. CMF Educa will host a Virtual Museum, starting with a tour of more than a century of banking history using over 1,000 advertisements. From May through year-end, the CMF will run guided visits to its Institutional Library for school and university students and will stage an exhibition of historical objects used in banking regulation and supervision as part of Heritage Month. The Annual Conference will take place at the Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of Chile, with 26 June dedicated to research papers submitted during the CMF’s March–April call and 27 June featuring presentations and panels with authorities, academics, and national and international experts on achievements and pending challenges. Further events include a second-half-of-year reflection session with former Superintendents of Banks and CMF Commissioners, and joint activities with other regulators and institutions planned for Financial Education Month in October.
