The Reserve Bank of Australia reported that seasonally adjusted total credit grew 0.8% in June and 8.5% over the year, up from 0.7% monthly growth in May and 6.9% annual growth a year earlier. Business credit led the increase, rising 1.1% in June and 10.8% over the year. Housing credit rose 0.6% for the month and 7.5% annually, while personal credit increased 0.8% and 4.7%, respectively. Broad money expanded 0.9% in June and 8.0% over the year. Historical data were revised following resubmissions by financial intermediaries, updated seasonal factors and the incorporation of securitization data. Publication of the Financial Aggregates and some Reserve Bank statistical tables may face delays over the coming months because of the decommissioning of the Direct to APRA reporting system.
