The National Bank of Moldova issued a message marking Romania’s National Day and announced that, from 1 December 2025, it is launching a commemorative coin titled “Queen Maria of Romania – 150 years since birth”. Governor Anca Dragu linked the announcement to Moldova–Romania cooperation, noting Romania’s position as Moldova’s most important economic partner and highlighting central bank collaboration. The cooperation agreement between the National Bank of Moldova and the National Bank of Romania is presented as supporting Moldova’s alignment with European standards in banking and prudential supervision, including work on SEPA harmonisation, EU Twinning programmes and the “School of Modern Finance” project for students and journalists.
