The Angola Capital Markets Commission (CMC) held an outreach session for students of the Instituto Superior Politécnico do Bita (ISPOB), delivering a lecture on “Investment Opportunities in the Capital Market” and organising guided visits to the CMC’s premises to familiarise participants with the regulator’s work. The lecture on 22 May involved around 70 participants, including students and teachers, and was led by Daniel Chipenda from the CMC’s Department of Studies, Strategy, Development and Communication. The presentation focused on improving financial literacy and investor participation, supporting capital market and derivatives market development and the emergence of new market participants, promoting an effective regulatory framework aligned with international best practices, and reinforcing oversight of market operations and the soundness of market infrastructure. Guided visits on 23 and 26 May provided students with an overview of the institution’s day-to-day functioning and opportunities to engage with staff across technical areas.
