The National Bank of the Republic of North Macedonia reported that Governor Dr Trajko Slaveski, together with Finance Minister Gordana Dimitrieska-Kochoska, led the country’s delegation to the annual meeting of its International Monetary Fund and World Bank constituency in Luxembourg, with Deputy Governor Ana Mitreska also participating. Bilateral meetings held alongside the event reaffirmed the central bank’s role as a pillar of macroeconomic and financial stability in North Macedonia. Talks with senior IMF and World Bank representatives, including Jeroen Klieck, Marnix van Rij, Mark Horton and Eugene Rugennaath, focused on current challenges facing central banks and the importance of coordination with international financial institutions to advance financial inclusion, further digitalise the financial system and strengthen regulatory frameworks. The discussions also covered the ways in which the National Bank supports macroeconomic stability through monetary policy management and its regulatory role.
