The Board of Directors of the Bank for International Settlements has appointed Tommaso Mancini-Griffoli as Head of the BIS Innovation Hub. Currently an Assistant Director at the International Monetary Fund covering payments, currencies and financial market infrastructures, he will join the BIS on 1 March 2026 for a five-year term, leading the Hub’s work on technological solutions for the central bank community and joining the BIS Executive Committee. The BIS Innovation Hub operates seven centres (Frankfurt/Paris for the Eurosystem, Hong Kong SAR, London, Singapore, Stockholm for the Nordic countries, Switzerland and Toronto) and has a strategic partnership with the Federal Reserve System, supporting a broad project portfolio and a network of over 200 central bank experts on innovation. Mancini-Griffoli succeeds Cecilia Skingsley, with BIS Deputy General Manager Andréa M Maechler continuing as Acting Head until March 2026.
