The Central Bank of the Philippines and the Department of Labor and Employment signed a memorandum of understanding on 29 August 2025 to enhance secure and timely data sharing between the two agencies, with the aim of improving policymaking using relevant datasets each produces. The arrangement is intended to help the central bank more closely monitor labour market conditions and develop policies in support of price stability, while the use of labour market data will also support research outputs that can inform the Department of Labor and Employment’s employment policies, labour market strategies, and delivery of employment facilitation services. Both parties committed to uphold data privacy and security in line with the Data Privacy Act of 2012 and applicable National Privacy Commission guidelines.
