The Angola Capital Markets Commission (CMC) held the first ordinary meeting of its Consultative Council for the 2025 financial year, bringing together regulators, market participants and other stakeholders to discuss current developments in Angola’s capital markets and gather input on key issues affecting the securities market ecosystem. The agenda covered market performance, a stocktake of the new operational model for the Angolan capital markets, and the status of CMC regulatory initiatives, alongside challenges linked to increasing investor participation, broadening the issuer base, and improving market depth and liquidity. The meeting was chaired by CMC board chair Elmer Serrão and included representatives from, among others, collective investment scheme management companies, the General Tax Administration (AGT), the National Institute for Consumer Protection (INADEC), the Angola Debt and Securities Exchange (BODIVA), the Angolan Banking Association (ABANC), banks, and securities dealers and investment firms.
