The board of the Argentina Securities Commission (CNV) participated in an event organised by the Central Bank of the Argentine Republic (BCRA) and jointly coordinated with the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) on the prevention of the financing of the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction. CNV chair Roberto E. Silva, vice-chair Sonia Salvatierra, and board members Laura Herbón and Manuel Calderón attended alongside other senior officials. The session was opened by BCRA director Silvina Rivarola and closed by BCRA president Santiago Bausili, with presentations from LSEG specialists and international experts from the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) and the Financial Action Task Force of Latin America (GAFILAT). Silva noted that CNV has been working on proliferation financing prevention since the enactment of Law No. 27.739, which placed CNV in charge of regulating and supervising virtual asset service providers, and highlighted the value of joint work with BCRA on these topics.
