The National Bank of Moldova announced that a delegation led by Governor Anca Dragu will participate in the International Monetary Fund and World Bank Group Annual Meetings in Washington, DC, from 13 to 18 October 2025. The delegation plans to use the meetings for bilateral discussions on Moldova’s financial-sector modernisation and European integration agenda, including recent developments in euro payments and the Financial Sector Assessment Program (FSAP). Moldova joined the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) on 6 March 2025 and banks began processing transactions in the system on 6 October 2025. The National Bank of Moldova also pointed to the successful completion of IMF and World Bank FSAP evaluation missions, which covered an assessment of banking regulation and supervision, bank stress testing, crisis-management capacity, and how the financial system supports access to finance for small and medium-sized enterprises and other key sectors; meetings are planned with senior IMF, World Bank and International Finance Corporation officials, and the delegation will attend alongside Ministry of Finance representatives.
