The Liechtenstein Financial Market Authority published its fire and natural hazards insurance brochure for the 2025 reporting year, showing that buildings and household contents worth CHF 31.5 billion are insured against these risks. The amount exceeds four times Liechtenstein’s gross domestic product. Insurers paid CHF 7 million for fire damage and CHF 2.6 million for natural hazard damage in 2024. Storm wind was the most frequent natural cause, accounting for 239 losses, followed by hail and rockfall. Fire insurance recorded 112 claims, including 19 caused by accidental fire.
