The Hong Kong Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA) has opened applications and nominations for the Good MPF Employer Award (GMEA) 2024-25, with submissions accepted until 15 July. Marking the programme’s 11th anniversary under the theme “Great Job, Boss!”, the awards recognise employers that comply with Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) requirements and provide additional retirement protection for employees. To qualify, employers must have participated in an MPF scheme for at least one year, complied with MPF legislation and offered extra retirement protection. The MPFA will also present “Good MPF Employer 5 Years” and “Good MPF Employer 10 Years” awards for sustained enhancement of employee retirement protection, and a “Best All-round MPF Employer” award based on five criteria for the 2024-25 award year (1 April 2024 to 31 March 2025), including 11 consecutive years of receiving the GMEA, offering more than one MPF scheme, providing MPF voluntary contributions, meeting e-contribution and online application requirements, and providing MPF support services for employees. Awardees will receive e-certificates and a GMEA logo for use on corporate channels; the MPFA noted that 2,298 companies and organisations received the award last year, including more than 300 first-time participants. Applications are submitted online via the GMEA website, and employees and MPF intermediaries may also nominate employers. Successful employee nominators will receive a gift, while successful intermediaries will be entitled to free attendance at all core Continuing Professional Development training sessions organised by the MPFA in 2026.
