The European Payments Council has released the “EDS Onboarding and Registration Guide”, setting out step-by-step instructions for Verification of Payee (VOP) scheme participants and Routing and/or Verification Mechanisms (RVMs) to register for the EPC Directory Service (EDS) via the EDS graphical user interface and application programming interfaces. The guide includes recommendations on choosing between standard onboarding and simplified registration depending on the participant or RVM profile, including standard onboarding where full EDS control and EDS API access are needed or where the entity acts as an RVM, and simplified registration for participants using an RVM. It also provides instructions on obtaining a BIC and accessing the APIs.
