The Central Bank of Uruguay has launched a fully digital channel for registration in the Register of Providers of Administration, Accounting or Data Processing Services, replacing the previous physical or in-person process. The new online-only procedure is intended to streamline administrative processes and improve access and user experience as part of broader upgrades to the central bank’s registration and authorisation systems. The register applies to individuals and legal entities based in Uruguay that, on a habitual and professional basis, provide these services directly related to managing the business of individuals or legal entities that are not supervised by the Central Bank of Uruguay and that conduct financial activities abroad; registration is required under Articles 124 and 125 of the Compilation of Regulatory and Control Standards of the Financial System.
