The Bank of England has appointed Andrea Enria to the Prudential Regulation Committee (PRC), the body responsible for the most important decisions on Prudential Regulation Authority policy and the supervision of individual firms. The appointment was made by Governor Andrew Bailey and approved by the Chancellor of the Exchequer. Enria joined the Bank of England in May as a Senior Adviser and will continue in that role while serving on the PRC. His previous roles include chair of the European Central Bank’s Single Supervisory Mechanism and chair of the European Banking Authority. Current PRC members are Andrew Bailey, Sam Woods, Sarah Breeden, Tanya Castell, Antony Jenkins, Marjorie Ngwenya, Nikhil Rathi, Sir Dave Ramsden and John Taylor. Niamh Moloney and David Soanes, who were recently appointed, will join the committee in due course alongside Enria.
