The Guernsey Financial Services Commission has issued an alert about a possible phishing attempt involving emails that appear to be from Commission Secretary Alice Joy and use the domain “mail-guernseyfsc.com”. It reminded recipients that the Commission sends emails from domains ending “gfsc.gg” and advised anyone unsure about an email’s authenticity not to reply or click links or attachments, and to forward the message to its designated phishing reporting address. The Commission also reminded firms of the guidance in its Cyber Rules and Guidance, 2021, including ensuring staff exercise caution with unfamiliar email links, maintaining appropriate cyber security software, implementing IT system updates in a timely manner, and notifying the Commission if they are subject to a significant cyber security event.
