The Seychelles Financial Services Authority (FSA) issued a public warning about allegedly unauthorised activity under the Virtual Asset Service Providers Act, 2024 involving the website bitexbit.com, which it says is allegedly operated by Bitfinity Ltd. The FSA stated that Bitfinity Ltd is incorporated under the International Business Companies Act, 2016 and, while it is registered as an international business company, it does not hold and has never held authorisation to offer virtual asset-related services under the Virtual Asset Service Providers Act, 2024. The authority reminded consumers to verify whether a virtual asset service provider or virtual asset products are licensed or regulated in the jurisdiction in which they claim to operate, noting that the FSA publishes on its website the list of authorised non-bank financial services providers, including virtual asset service providers, and registrations of initial coin offerings and non-fungible tokens. The FSA also encouraged the public to report suspected unauthorised or unlicensed virtual asset service provider activity using a form available on its website.
