The Bank of Lithuania has granted Micar assets UAB authorisation to operate as a crypto-asset service provider under the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA), allowing it to offer crypto-asset services to both retail and business clients in Lithuania. The authorisation covers custody and administration of clients’ crypto-assets, exchange of crypto-assets into money or other crypto-assets, processing of crypto-asset related orders, and other services. Micar assets UAB is the fourth firm authorised by the Bank of Lithuania under MiCA, following Robinhood Europe, UAB, UAB “Decentralized” (Coingate) and Nuvei Liquidity UAB; one of Micar assets UAB’s shareholders is finance brokerage firm Myriad capital FMI UAB. ESMA data cited in the release places Lithuania second in the Nordic-Baltic region by number of issued crypto-asset service provider authorisations, behind Finland and ahead of Latvia and Sweden.
