The Argentina Securities Commission (CNV) has begun implementing a new model for administering its Suitability Examination, with recognized capital markets institutions and universities gradually taking responsibility for evaluations from 2027 under CNV standards and supervision. The model is intended to increase testing capacity and nationwide access as demand grows, building on the regulator’s earlier expansion of examination venues and available places across Argentina. The CNV will increasingly focus on setting minimum content, assessment standards and administrative criteria, as well as supervising and auditing the system to maintain consistent quality and transparency. During the transition, it will temporarily suspend collection of the examination fee and issuance of new VEPs. Candidates who have already paid or hold a valid VEP will retain their rights, and the CNV will continue administering exams through appointment slots made available in 2026. The regulator will subsequently announce the authorized examination administrators, registration arrangements, available dates and treatment of existing VEPs.
