The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and UK authorities reviewed cooperation on digital finance, capital markets and sustainable finance at the 11th UK-Singapore Financial Dialogue in Singapore. Digital finance discussions covered cross-border tokenisation, wholesale digital markets and the implications of digital money for institutional settlement. MAS and the UK Financial Conduct Authority also reviewed progress under their AI-in-Finance Partnership, launched in November 2025 to support responsible artificial intelligence adoption through cooperation on testing, regulatory insights and industry programmes. The review covered ongoing work on an AI taxonomy and possible use cases for further cooperation. Other exchanges addressed Singapore’s framework for safe use of AI agents in financial tasks and approaches to financial institutions’ transition to quantum-safe technologies. On capital markets, both sides shared updates on existing reforms and efforts to expand access to growth capital. MAS outlined measures introduced by Singapore’s Equities Market Review Group and work to strengthen financing across deal origination, capital raising and capital recycling. Sustainable finance discussions covered UK transition finance initiatives and experience with climate adaptation through insurance markets. Singapore provided updates on ongoing revisions to the Singapore-Asia Taxonomy 2.0 and its experience with the Financial Sector Carbon Market Grant. The two countries also discussed collaboration ahead of the UK’s G20 Presidency and Singapore’s ASEAN Chairmanship in 2027. An industry-led business roundtable on October 21 will examine opportunities for international cooperation in that context. The UK will host the next Financial Dialogue in 2027.
