Sorsogon City, under an initiative of the Central Bank of the Philippines and the Department of the Interior and Local Government, launched Paleng-QR Ph Plus on 19 December 2024 to promote QR PH-based digital payments in public markets, local transport, and other business establishments, alongside a “Piso Caravan” with the Sorsogon Bankers Association that enabled residents to exchange unfit and mutilated banknotes and coins for fit currency or electronic wallet credits.
