The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority has launched a free Market Data and Investments Explorer for retail investors and redesigned its Risk and Scam Meters. The tools combine investment research and educational resources with personalized assessments intended to help users identify fraud vulnerabilities and scam warning signs. The explorer replaces FINRA’s retired Market Data Center with broader coverage of market conditions, exchange traded and over-the-counter equities, exchange traded funds and mutual funds. It also provides profiles of exchange listed companies covering stock prices, valuation, profitability, recent news and Securities and Exchange Commission filings, alongside relevant investor education materials. The Risk Meter uses responses to 10 questions to generate a personalized fraud vulnerability rating and protective tips. The Scam Meter presents five scenarios, provides immediate feedback on common tactics and warning signs, and produces a red flag awareness score.
