The Central Bank of Russia published its Analytical Review of the Credit Information System for 2025 H1, reporting increased use of credit history bureaus (CHBs) by both individuals and lenders. Individuals received 9% more credit reports, while banks and microfinance organisations increased requests for borrowers’ individual ratings by about one-third. Microfinance organisations’ demand for CHB services rose alongside the growing proportion of online microloans, with credit assessment (scoring) services almost doubling over the past 12 months. The central bank estimates the potential savings from using credit reports have also increased, with each RUB 1 spent on a credit report potentially reducing overdue loan amounts by more than RUB 280, up almost 25% over the same period.
