The Financial Superintendence of Colombia (SFC) published an update on a training session for compliance officers from supervised financial institutions, aimed at supporting officers appointed in the last quarter of 2024 and during 2025 by contextualising SFC supervision and sharing current perspectives on money laundering and terrorist financing risk and prevention. A total of 87 compliance officers took part (41 in person and 46 virtually). The agenda covered the prevention ecosystem for money laundering, terrorist financing and financing of the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, the role of the SFC, Financial Action Task Force (FATF) Recommendations 6 and 7, and progress in Colombia’s AML/CFT framework. The session included presentations from multiple SFC teams and contributions from the National Tax and Customs Directorate (DIAN), the Financial Information and Analysis Unit (UIAF), and compliance officers participating as panellists.
