The Central Bank of Estonia has published its monthly flash estimate of the balance of payments for the last month but one and confirmed that it will release the balance of payments for the first quarter of 2025 on 11 June 2025. The bank explained that the quarterly balance of payments is compiled from a combined system of representative primary data sources, including company surveys, while the monthly balance of payments draws on a smaller database. The monthly figures use as much available information as possible, including administrative data sources and international payments reports, but are inherently partly subjective and therefore presented as an estimate; once the quarterly data are released, the monthly series are adjusted accordingly. The release is published as a statistical release alongside statistical data and is presented separately from economic policy releases.
