The Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo published a readout of Governor Ahmet Ismaili’s meeting with a senior International Monetary Fund (IMF) team to review banking supervision developments and the ongoing upgrade of the supervisory and regulatory framework, with a focus on implementing the Supervisory Review and Evaluation Process (SREP). Discussions covered the practical rollout of SREP and the continued alignment of the central bank’s supervisory approach with international and European standards and best practices. The governor reported progress against an agreed reform programme under a phased implementation roadmap, while the IMF team noted progress in developing the supervisory framework, including follow-through on earlier recommendations. The parties agreed to continue technical cooperation, centred on further advancing the SREP framework through exchange of concrete practices and ongoing IMF support. The central bank noted that it approved the implementation roadmap at the end of February 2025 and has since hosted repeated expert visits.
