The European Banking Federation’s Banking Committee for European Social Affairs has elected André Guy Turoche as chair, with Wien De Geyter and Yiannos Rossides as vice-chairs, establishing a three-member leadership team for the body that represents bank employers in European-level social dialogue. Turoche is director of social affairs at the French Banking Association, De Geyter is secretary general of the Federation of the Belgian Financial Sector, and Rossides is manager of people and innovation at the Association of Cyprus Banks. De Geyter continues in the vice-chair role she already held, while Rossides joins as a new vice-chair. The federation tied the broader chairmanship structure to the increasing intensity and complexity of EU social affairs affecting the banking sector and its workforce. BCESA represents employers in the European banking sector and, together with the European Savings Banks Group and the European Association of Cooperative Banks, engages with social partners and institutions including UNI-Finance and the European Commission. The leadership change follows the final meeting of outgoing chair Jens Thau, who said the new team would carry forward the committee’s work on the sector’s social affairs agenda.
