The Qatar Financial Markets Authority (QFMA) reported that its Chief Executive Officer participated by video conference in the 31st meeting of the GCC Heads of Capital Market Authorities Committee, which reviewed implementation of regional capital markets initiatives. Discussions focused on follow-up of initiatives referred to the GCC Financial Markets Committee (Stock Exchanges), including measures to encourage the listing and trading of bonds and sukuk in GCC markets, promote dual listing and electronic linkage, and unify investor numbers for GCC nationals. The committee also reviewed developments in implementing the Inter-Registration Regulation (Passporting), progress on the GCC Capital Markets Integration Strategy, and the minutes of the GCC Financial Markets Regulators Working Group on communication and investor awareness, alongside broader updates on GCC capital markets.
