The Central Bank of Paraguay has launched the 2025-2026 Household Budget Survey, a data collection exercise intended to update the goods and services included in the Consumer Price Index basket used to calculate inflation. Fieldwork begins in October and will be carried out by the National Institute of Statistics. The survey will gather information on household consumption habits from a sample of more than 3,000 homes in Asuncion and the Central Department, and will run until September 2026. After the information is collected, the Central Bank of Paraguay will process and analyze the results for the corresponding update of the Consumer Price Index basket.
