The Brazilian Superintendence of Private Insurance (SUSEP) announced that it expects to make its registration system for associations that form mutualistic property protection groups available on its website in the coming days, with registration to be completed by 15 July 2025. The move follows SUSEP Resolution No. 49/2025 and is positioned as an initial step in implementing Complementary Law No. 213/2025 on mutualistic property protection operations. In a series of events in Belo Horizonte and in an insurance school podcast, SUSEP director Carlos Queiroz presented the main provisions of Complementary Law No. 213/2025, explained how the registration of these entities with SUSEP will work, and noted that additional secondary regulation will be needed to give full effect to the law. His agenda also included visits to three vehicle protection associations, a technology company, and two cargo transport-related entities to better understand the segment’s operational characteristics. SUSEP indicated that the registration system should be released in the next few days, and that registrations will be mandatory by 15 July 2025.
