The Cayman Islands Monetary Authority has appointed Dr. Petr Jakubik as Head of the Financial Stability and Statistics Division, effective 3 September 2025. The role includes advancing CIMA’s research and analysis on financial stability and overseeing the compilation and dissemination of official statistics. Jakubik brings more than 25 years of experience in financial stability, macroprudential supervision and statistical development, including senior roles at the Bank for International Settlements, the International Monetary Fund’s Caribbean Regional Technical Assistance Centre, and the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority, as well as work with the European Central Bank and several national central banks. CIMA linked the appointment to strengthening its monitoring frameworks and its ability to respond to emerging risks.
