The Cayman Islands Monetary Authority has published a Strix XBRL Overview User Guide to help regulated entities and form fillers prepare return files and upload them to the Strix platform. The guide follows CIMA’s integration of XBRL functionality into Strix, mirroring existing XBRL capabilities in its Regulatory Enhanced Electronic Forms Submission platform. The XBRL module can automatically populate input fields using data from an uploaded XBRL Instance file, reducing completion time for recurring returns with limited annual changes and lowering the risk of manual errors or inconsistencies. CIMA links the enhancements to more efficient data submission, entity-level risk rating, and improved sectoral and national analysis, including contributions to the National Risk Assessment. CIMA encourages regulated entities to review the guide and incorporate the XBRL enhancements into their reporting processes.
