The Central Bank of Cuba reported on a ceremony recognizing staff at the headquarters of Cuba’s banking and financial institutions for 25 to 50 years of service. Held at the José Martí Memorial in Havana and led by the central bank’s minister-president, the event formed part of commemorations for Bank Workers’ Day and the 66th anniversary of the nationalization of banking on Oct. 13, 1960. Employees received commemorative badges and plaques. The ceremony also recognized institutional anniversaries in 2026, marking 30 years for both Banco Metropolitano and Banco de Inversiones S.A., and 40 years for the National Center for Banking Training.
