The Brazil Securities Commission (CVM), with support from B3, Planejar and ANCORD, will release an educational warning video highlighting the key risks associated with offers involving contracts for difference (CFDs) and Forex. The video, titled “FOREX Health – Would you hire a ‘health plan’ like this?”, will be published on the CVMEducacional YouTube channel as part of National Financial Education Week 2025. The material uses a simple analogy to explain the main investor risks in CFD and Forex offerings and reiterates CVM’s position that institutions may only publicly offer securities-related products and services in Brazil with CVM authorisation and in compliance with Central Bank of Brazil rules. CVM notes that it has not registered any offer related to the Forex market to date, and points readers to its Investor Portal “Alerts Series”, including the “Forex Booklet” updated in October 2024, as well as its public declaratory acts warning about irregular activity (stop orders). The video is scheduled to be available from 16 May at 19:00, while National Financial Education Week 2025 runs through 18 May.
