The National Bank of Moldova published its monthly statistics on Moldova’s internal cash foreign exchange market for November 2025, covering purchases and sales of foreign currency against the Moldovan leu conducted by cash exchange units with individuals. Total turnover was EUR 362.1 million equivalent, comprising EUR 279.4 million of purchases and EUR 82.7 million of sales. The euro accounted for 73.8% of total turnover (EUR 266.7 million), followed by the US dollar at 17.4% (EUR 62.3 million) and other currencies at 6.6% (EUR 21.5 million). Compared with the previous month, total turnover fell 17.4% (purchases down 18.9% and sales down 11.6%), while year on year the total was broadly flat at +0.2% (purchases up 9.9% and sales down 22.9%). The central bank noted that EUR equivalents are calculated using monthly official average exchange rates and that the cash FX market data is published monthly by the last day of the month following the reporting month.
