The Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo reported that Governor Ahmet Ismaili met senior officials from the United States Department of the Treasury’s Office of Technical Assistance during the 2025 International Monetary Fund and World Bank Annual Meetings, reaffirming the existing partnership and discussing scope for expanding cooperation. The Kosovo delegation briefed the US Treasury team on key financial sector developments, progress in strengthening the anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing legal framework, measures to combat counterfeit currency and protect the integrity of the financial system, and capacity-building for risk-based supervision. The US Treasury’s Office of Technical Assistance confirmed its readiness to continue current projects and broaden cooperation under a new technical assistance programme.

The Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo, led by Governor Ahmet Ismaili, met with the US Treasury’s Office of Technical Assistance during the 2025 IMF and World Bank Annual Meetings to reaffirm and potentially expand their partnership. Discussions included Kosovo's financial sector developments, anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing efforts, and risk-based supervision capacity-building.
