The Central Bank of Montenegro, in partnership with De Nederlandsche Bank, opened an international seminar in Podgorica running from 6 to 8 October 2025 on empowering internal auditors as trusted and strategic advisers within central banks. The event brings together internal auditors and members of audit committees from central banks in the International Monetary Fund’s Belgium–Dutch Constituency and other partner central banks. The programme focuses on data use and analysis, risk identification and monitoring, the application of advanced artificial intelligence tools, and ethics and integrity, with the aim of strengthening corporate governance, risk control and strategic decision-making. Governor Irena Radovic used the opening remarks to emphasise advancing internal audit practices and international cooperation, and the seminar is positioned as a forum for experience-sharing and networking among representatives of 18 central banks.
