The State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) announced that Professor John Quelch and financial-services executive Peter Verhoeven will join the High-level Advisory Council of Banking Journal, a publication of Banking Times, as the publisher prepares to refresh the Vietnamese edition and launch an English-language version. The move follows SBV leadership directions and Deputy Governor Pham Thanh Ha’s 10 March 2025 instructions on modernising and improving the quality of the sector’s press units after organisational streamlining. Banking Times has updated its online content and layout, added new sections, and worked with SBV’s Information Technology Department to upgrade the SBV web portal interface; at a 5 May 2025 meeting at SBV headquarters, the two advisers toured the newsroom and shared recommendations aimed at strengthening the journal’s academic quality and international profile. Quelch and Verhoeven are expected to take up their advisory council roles in the coming period, supporting the planned relaunch of the Vietnamese edition and the introduction of the English edition.
