The State Bank of Vietnam has established its Regional Branch 13, consolidating the central bank’s provincial branches in Long An, Tien Giang, Ben Tre and Tra Vinh, and has made a round of senior appointments for the new unit. The merger was implemented under the Governor’s Decision No. 313/QD-SBV on the establishment of State Bank of Vietnam Regional Branch 13. Governor Nguyen Thi Hong handed decisions appointing Le Van Hai, Le Cong Thanh, Nguyen Thi Dam and Le Thi My Hien as deputy directors, following the earlier appointment of Pham Minh Tu as director on 25 February. Additional appointments were announced for a number of department head and deputy department head roles. The branch is tasked with advising the Governor on state management of monetary, banking and foreign exchange activities across the four provinces and carrying out certain central banking operations under delegated authority; the area currently has 96 credit institutions operating 592 transaction points and estimated outstanding loans of nearly VND 369,000bn at end-February 2025, up 1.4% from end-2024.
