The Dominican Republic's Pensions Superintendency launched a new round of pension education for employers, starting with a training programme for Casa Brugal that brought together more than 90 executives and staff and was complemented by personalised user support at its Tu Futuro service centre in Santo Domingo. The initial session at Casa Brugal delivered three simultaneous modules in person and online and focused on practical understanding of the Dominican pension system, benefits and how to access them. The Superintendent, Francisco A. Torres, linked the training to rising longevity, citing a life expectancy at birth of 73 years that is projected to reach 75 within three years and an expected additional 20 years of life after age 60, underscoring the need for sufficient retirement capital through higher savings. Casa Brugal indicated it intends to seek the “Aquí Sabemos de Pensiones” seal once 70% of its workforce completes the courses. Further training sessions were announced for Casa Brugal production sites in Puerto Plata and San Pedro de Macorís.
