The National Securities and Stock Market Commission of Ukraine published an account of Chair Oleksii Semeniuk’s remarks during an online industry discussion, in which he called for a legal framework governing Ukraine’s established virtual asset market. The framework should enable authorized service providers to operate legally, give users clear protections and provide businesses with predictable authorization rules, rather than seek to create a market from scratch. Semeniuk identified banking and payment access as a key next step that will require cooperation among regulators, banks and market participants after the sector’s legal status is defined. He also advocated legal infrastructure for tokenizing real-world and financial assets and developing related investment products. The remarks cited Chainalysis estimates that Ukraine-related crypto transactions reached about USD 206.3 billion and grew roughly 52% over the year.
