The Chile Financial Market Commission has opened a six-week consultation on proposed amendments to Chapter 20-7 of the Updated Compilation of Banking Regulations, updating its requirements for the externalization of services and introducing an ongoing information requirement through a new regulatory file. The proposal would apply to banks, savings and credit cooperatives, non-banking card issuers, payment card operators, and support companies of banking activities. Changes would update the framework in line with recent international guidance and regulatory updates applicable to other CMF-supervised entities, and add definitions and guidelines aimed at strengthening the management of third-party and outsourcing risks across their life cycle. A new Regulatory File in the Information Systems Manual would periodically assess provider registries, their activities, and related incidents to strengthen systematized information on service providers and support supervisory work. Feedback can be submitted within the six-week consultation window via the CMF website’s “Regulations Under Consultation” section.
