The Bank of Korea published Korea's 2025 national balance sheets, estimating the total economy's net worth at KRW 24,561.5 trillion at the end of 2025, up KRW 531.1 trillion, or 2.2%, from a year earlier. Non-financial assets totaled KRW 23,290.6 trillion, while net financial assets stood at KRW 1,270.9 trillion. Growth in national wealth was driven by non-financial assets. Produced non-financial assets rose KRW 302.5 trillion, or 2.9%, led by increases in construction assets, facilities assets and intellectual property products, while non-produced non-financial assets increased KRW 554.8 trillion, or 4.6%, primarily because of higher land values. Net financial assets fell KRW 326.2 trillion, or 20.4%, as financial liabilities grew 13.6% to KRW 26,047.6 trillion, outpacing an 11.4% rise in financial assets to KRW 27,318.5 trillion. By sector, households and non-profit institutions serving households held KRW 14,200.5 trillion, or 57.8%, of total net worth, followed by general government at KRW 6,194.0 trillion, non-financial corporations at KRW 3,657.5 trillion and financial corporations at KRW 509.5 trillion.
