The Central Bank of Brunei Darussalam updated its BDCB Alert List, which identifies companies and individuals that are not licensed, authorised or regulated by the central bank, and warned the public to exercise caution and avoid being misled about their regulatory status. The list is issued without prejudice to any further assessment by the central bank of the activities of the persons concerned. The update adds Official Amanah Baiduri, also using the names Amanah Express Loan and Amanah Loan Express Brunei Darussalam on TikTok. It also includes Mei’az Miharbi, linked to the Facebook profile Money Loan Brunei Trusted and the number 7339974, and Galaxy Brunei Lelong on Instagram. The central bank reiterated that consumers should only deal with institutions licensed by BDCB, noting that activities including money remittance, money changing, money lending and pawnbroking require a BDCB licence and that dealing with unlicensed entities falls outside BDCB’s regulatory protections. The BDCB Alert List is published on the BDCB website, and the central bank indicated it will continue monitoring suspicious or unlicensed financial activities in Brunei Darussalam.
