The United Arab Emirates Ministry of Finance hosted the Arab Monetary Fund’s Golden Jubilee and the 17th Ordinary Session of the Council of Arab Finance Ministers in Abu Dhabi. Finance ministers and international institutions reviewed regional fiscal conditions, macroeconomic resilience, artificial intelligence in public administration, sustainable infrastructure finance and implementation of international tax standards. The UAE outlined plans to convert 50% of federal government operations and services into Agentic AI models within two years, building on applications across budgeting, payroll, procurement and final accounts. It also reiterated its implementation of the UAE Domestic Minimum Top-up Tax from 2025 in line with the Global Anti-Base Erosion Rules. The Arab Monetary Fund, which has provided more than USD 11.8 billion in financing over 50 years, set out plans to expand financing, advisory support, capacity building, digital payments infrastructure and financial inclusion. A workshop scheduled for Sept. 29 will examine the macroeconomic effects of geopolitical disruption and ways to strengthen fiscal and monetary policy coordination. The UAE will present its experience establishing the Financial Stability Council and integrating AI into financial stability monitoring.
